Whenever I mix up a fresh batch of one of our Colour Shifts for a production run, I am always mesmerised by the colours that appear in the pigment and how they move and change.

I was mixing up some Colour Shift Extreme Abyss the other day, and it got me thinking – I know how these work, but does everyone else understand what is happening when they look at their models painted in them? At the recent Diecast Model Expo, our friends from Oz Wheels released a Limited Edition 1/64 VK Commodore diecast car with a unique multi-coloured anodised finish. The 2025 Diecast Model Expo was held over 3 days from the 19th through to the 21st of September, and after visiting the same show back in 2023 at the Melton Tabcorp Park, I reached out to Dimitri from the Expo to express a wish to sponsor their custom model competition. Over the weekend of August 16th & 17th 2025, the Queensland Model Hobbies Expo (QMHE) was held at the Ipswich Showgrounds in Ipswich, just west of Brisbane.
