Recently, Diecast Distributors Australia (DDA) announced their new line of 1/24 scale plastic model kits based on popular Australian muscle cars. The first release coming in early 2023 will consist of 3 kits, the Holden HQ Monaro, the HQ Kingswood and the Monaro "Slammed" version.
We reached out to Jesse and John at DDA back in May 2022 when they were announced and opened up talks about future collaborations between us here at SMS and DDA. After a few back and forths, we are extremely happy to announce that SMS has officially partnered with DDA with an exclusive deal to produce a new range of Australian Auto paints and paint sets, beginning with a selection of colours for the Holden HQ kits that are on the horizon.
So as a proof of concept, we also managed to get our hands on the ONLY prototype of the new kits that is in Australia (the Slammed version) and have assembled and painted it fully in our paints including one of the new Auto Colours, Barbados Green.
Paints used on this are : Barbados Green, Surfacer Black, Black, White, HyperChrome Cold, HyperChrome Bright Silver Marker, Super Clear and Clear Orange & Red.

The new range will release in waves and we will be working with DDA on producing sets to match their kits.
